Going Inwards exploring the process of coming to inner awareness. In this quiet space, I become a bare witness to the shades of the personality. The heart opens up and creepers like the nerves of the body, begin the journey to expansion. The identities merge as one, and the heart turns into a golden seed. The perception of the physical self begins to collapse into the universal self, and when the breath slows down, there is a formlessness.
When I create, I refer to my own body's stance and observations from sculptures from Jain and Buddhist temples, which have evolved over centuries. There is a mediation in perfecting these forms; a complete transfer of energy into the forms; a joyous moment when the artwork comes to life!
My work bridges intuitive thoughts arising within, from deep silence, expresses it in symbols, through the experience of the relationship between inner and outer worlds. The sources of inspiration are from nature and the interdependent arterial network in the human body, that merge into personifications of figurative forms. The journey is finding integration, through anatomical studies, impressions gathered from Indian temple architecture and spiritual practices.
