Potter’s Directory

clayfullyours by Sangeeta Kapila

Starting out with a career in advertising to managing brand, communications and marketing in the third sector for almost two decades, I’m finally living to work....working with clay.
The play with clay, the process of applying mind and body to bring forms of varying sizes, colours and functionality to life using different techniques is so uplifting and simultaneously, so very earthed.
Created by throwing clay onto a potter’s wheel, some hand-building and a potload of glaze learning, I present to you handcrafted and aesthetically unique creations in ceramic.
At present, my exploration with clay is in creating functional pieces - bowls, platters, plates, mugs, vases to mention a few.  I love texture, especially lines. I use stoneware clay and fire in an electric kiln at 1200 °C. All the material used in making is lead-free, and the pieces are microwave-safe and oven and dishwasher friendly.
I work from my studio “Clayfullyours” in Mumbai.  To view my work please visit my page @clayfullyours on Instagram.
Thank you!

Hardik Chavda

I graduated with a Master in Visual Arts majoring in Mural Design from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara (2018-20). Holding a bachelor's in Visual Arts from the same University. The painting department made me curious to explore various streams I could blossom and hence, took up ceramics for further research and topic of study. I have been evolving with the medium and have achieved technical expertise in Ceramic techniques, Glaze making, throwing-firing, and kiln maintaining precision with a detailed understanding of types of clay and handling throughout the process. My greatest takeaway from the learnings of ceramic practice is that life evolves like the potter's wheel and one should keep evolving from within and beyond to never stop learning and exploring along with immersing oneself in the process. Looking forward to the journey ahead.

My introduction to ceramics was at Delhi Blue pottery almost a decade ago. Spending half an hour  wedging and preparing the clay and then centring on the  kick wheel  laid the foundation, which many years  later, finally found its ground in Mumbai.

A Course at Raheja College of Art and Architecture in Mumbai, enabled me learn the basics of making clay, glazes and firing. As they say, you don’t choose pottery, pottery chooses you, and the process is so involving and intense, that you get completely sucked in.

My previous experience in fine arts does reflect in my works. Painting with underglaze, stains, I make wall platters, murals and sculptures, apart from functional ceramics.

For me, everyday in my home studio, is a learning experience, experimenting with different clay bodies, glazes  and firing temperatures in my electric kiln,  I move forward one step at a time.

Have participated in various Studio Potters Markets all over India .

Dr.Sawini Ghosh

I am a doctor by profession and a ceramic artist by passion. I always loved working with clay, I guess ceramics was an inner calling that I addressed. The plasticity of clay helps me express my emotions and thoughts. I had started my learning many years ago. I have also self taught various techniques through online portals and ceramic books. My work is inspired by the elements of nature, some of my works are self expression of my emotions, love, anger, desire. I make opulent functional dinnerware and home decor. I have exhibited my work at various platforms, the love with which people welcome me and appreciate my work, has motivated me to explore and venture deeper into the beautiful world of ceramics. Winique Pottery is a quintessential in the field of ceramics. Our products are inspired by the elements of mother nature. We focus at promoting quality over quantity so as to provide the finest and most exquisite pieces of ceramics.
